Here are a few things you should absolutely consider outside of the home before buying a house!

Check how well it’s rated, how close it is, and if possible, ask a few locals who have kids what they think of it. Buying a house in a good school district, even if you don’t have kids, will also add home value and appeal to future buyers if you ever sell.
Neighbors and Neighborhood
You can change a lot inside of the home, but you can’t change location. Do a drive through the neighborhood at various times of the day to see how you like it. Is it noisy? Is there a lot of traffic? These are all things that are best to know beforehand. Don’t forget to ask the sellers about the neighbors too. Inconsiderate neighbors can make even the most beautiful house suddenly feel unwelcome.
Most people in the GTA commute to work. It’s a good idea to do a few test runs to see how long your work commute will be from the new house. Things like bus stops, schools nearby, or construction could add time to that trip that Google Maps doesn’t account for.
Before purchasing a house, real estate agents recommend you map out where the closest amenities are. Check to see how close you are to things like the post office, grocery store, and hospital. It’s a small thing, but having to go thirty minutes out of your day just to grab groceries can really make life hard.
